For the week 3 the topic was about:
I would like to list down some of the Information Communication and Technology.
 INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGY
*         Information and communications technology (ICT) is concerned with the use of technology in managing and processing information.
*         These innovations enable the processing and storage of enormous amounts of information, along with rapid distribution of information through communication networks.
TRENDS OF ICT

ICT Management
As we know that the ICT management has the following aspects:
*         ICT Resource Management
Resource management controls that ICT resources (information system and technology infrastructure) with the required capabilities are available at the right time and the right place.
*         ICT Services Management
Services management controls that the ICT resources deliver the services with the required functionality and qualities to the processes and especially to the people .
*         ICT Governance (Governance focuses on: )
*         The roles of the ICT resources and the ICT services and the accountability of their contribution to the sector .
*         The roles, responsibilities and accountability of the ICT organisation (employees, external parties) that delivers and develops the ICT services and resources.
ROLE OF ICT IN EDUCATION
*         However, education is the process of acquiring knowledge. In traditional model, people learn from other people such as teachers and parents. Many forms of printed material such as books and manual are used as learning tools
*         Today, educators are turning to IT and ICT to assist in   education. Information and communication technologies (ICTs) which include radio and television, as well as newer digital technologies such as computers and the Internet have been touted as potentially powerful enabling tools for educational change and reform.
As we know that IT talks everywhere here are some of them:
*         ICT help to:
-          expand access in education
-          strengthen the relevance of education to the increasingly digital workplace
-          raise educational quality among
-          make teaching and learning into an engaging or active process connected to real life.
*                       ICT removes problems concerning space and time
*         the students can communicate anywhere, any time
*         the students can contact the teacher anywhere, any time
*         the students can collect and exchange information anywhere, any time
*         ICT gives access to knowledge
*         in principle the students can draw on a global pool of knowledge
*         ICT makes saving – and sharing – knowledge easier
*         the students can, individually and/or together create records of notes and presentations (portfolio) and thus register their progress and use it for exams
ROLE OF ICT IN BANKING
*         Here are some of the steps that the application of information and communication technology concepts, techniques, policies and implementation strategies to banking services has become a subject of fundamental importance and concerns to all banks and indeed a prerequisite for local and global competitiveness.
*         ICT directly affects how managers decide, how they plan and what products and services are offered in the banking industry.

*         The adoption of ICT improves:
-          the banks’ image and leads to a wider, faster and more efficient market.
-          It has also made work easier and more interesting, improves the competitive edge of banks.
-          improves relationship with customers and assists in solving basic operational and planning problems.
THE USES OF ICTS IN BANKING
BENEFITS OF ICT IN BANKING SECTOR
*         Technological innovation has brought several advantages to the banking in the world such as:
                -   Convenience
-          More value added service to meet customer needs
-          Enhanced customer access and awareness
-            Cost and time effectiveness
-            Wider networking
ICT IN GOVERNMENT
*         ICT and Technology is a basic infrastructure necessary for economic and social development of a country.
*         This is even becoming more strong than ever as information related economic activities are growing.
*         Information and communications technology may be described as the support of the central nervous system of complex societies, transmitting and processing information and commands among the various parts of such societies.
*         Internet plays a fundamental function in ICT role.
ROLE OF ICT IN GOVERNMENT
I just want to show the graph:

THE ROLE OF ICT IN COMMUNICATION AND CO-OPERATION:

ICT IN COMMUNICATION
*         The technology supports the external and internal communication of the virtual company in three ways:
1)      The Internet is used as public network for information and communication to the public and especially to potential customers.
2)      Internet technology is used for an Extranet. This is a private network for the business communication with customers and suppliers. An Extranet is realised as a communication server within the company, which is accessible through the Internet for authorised users. The communication server offers the user access to information systems and employees within the company.
3)      Internet technology is used for an Intranet. The Intranet not only uses Internet and Web technology for the support of communication but also incorporates groupware and workflow applications for the support of co-operation, process control and knowledge exchange.

In the end of this week we had a discussion about:

*         What is IT?
*          What is ICT?
*          Explain role of IT in daily life?
*          Give some examples of ICT in advertising, marketing,   science, health care in your country.
